Christchurch is the gateway to Antarctica and located near the airport is the International Antarctic Centre.
The centre was really good and gives you an interesting insight into the research and development work, that is carried out in the Antarctic.
We donned warm jackets and braved the artic conditions in the simulated room. The temp dropped to -5, but the wind chill from the fans made it feel much much colder. Joo couldn't wait to get outside!
The highlight of the centre was the chance to have a ride in the Hagglund ATV, that are used extensively out on the ice.
