globaltour.co.uk :: Lee and Julie's trip round the world 2004

Dunedin and Mount Cook
Date: Nov 17, 2004 - 05:13 AM

Leaving behind the majestic Te Anau and Milford Sound, we headed east towards Dunedin passing some spectacular blue lakes.

Dunedin is Celtic for Edinburgh and is recognised as the most Scottish city outside Kilt-land. The weather was attrocious the whole 2 days we were there.
All we did was watch TV - we managed to catch Lord of the Rings too.

The weather put us both in a lazy mood and we didn't manage to see anything in Dunedin.
We'd planned to go to the Speights Brewery, see the world's steepest street - Baldwin Street and to see the yellow eyed penguins on the coast.
Sadly, we never did any of it! There's always next time, though.

From Dunedin, we headed up towards Twizel and over to Mount Cook.
The view over to Mount Cook from the shores of Lake Tekapo was stunning.

Enjoy the pictures!
