Manly is home to Simon 'Spiff' Reed, who we met on Beachcomber Island in Fiji, so we headed over on the ferry for a few schooners of ale.
Spiff has been working over here as a construction consultant for the last 9 months and hails from Playa Del Preston, oop North.
After a few beers at the Manly Wharf Hotel, we headed over to Spiff's local, The Steyne.
It was great to catch up with him again and hopefully will meet up when he's over in the UK this summer.
We caught the ferry back to Sydney, which is probably not the wisest form of transport when you've been supping ale.
It probably sounds like we're alco's! We have had the odd day without beer!
On the Wednesday night, we all headed out for a meal and another load of bevvies.
We ate at Out of India in Potts Point, which was great although Rodg did have the hottest masala he'd ever eaten!
Moving on, we had a few in Jimmy Liks and then onto Soho Bar & Lounge. We 'lounged' in there until late and then headed home.
The next day we sorted out some stuff and then spent the afternoon with everyone on Manly Beach.
That evening a friend of Craig's, Jim, had promised us a night of jazz. Thursday night is country & western at one club and the other was closed indefinately. No jazz for us, so we headed to an Irish bar and then to a cocktail bar.
As it was Craig's birthday, we all then headed back to their hostel for a slice of birthday cake. Another great night and it was sad to say our goodbyes to everyone.
We were sad to leave Sydney and Australia, but were looking forward to Asia with its cultures so different to our own.
