Monday 13th December 2004 [ Neighbours tour and Meet The Stars night ]

Neighbours is filmed in Melbourne, so we just had to go and see Ramsey Street and Erinsborough High.

There's also a 'Meet The Stars' event every Monday night at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St. Kilda, so we booked the tour for Monday to coincide with the 'Meet The Stars' night.





Pin Oak Court in the suburb of Vermont, is where Ramsey Street is. Pulling into the street is very strange as it looks a lot bigger than it does on the TV. This is because some of the houses on the street didn't want to be part of it, so their houses are blanked out.
The residents each get AUS$ 20,000 each year and have to let the production company know if they want to change anything on their houses.
If there's an episode where Harold gets a new door, it's because the owners needed one!

Posing outside Harold Bishop's house, the Scully's, Mrs Mangle's old house and with the infamous street sign was great. We're not massive Neighbours fans, but used to watch it years ago in the days of Scott and Charlene.

A quick trip round to Erinsborough High and then on the way back we watched Scott and Charlene's wedding.

Back into St. Kilda, we were changed and back out heading towards the Elephant and Wheelbarrow.

The queue was unbelievable and they were turning people away who didn't have tickets. Luckily we'd booked ours, so we were waved on in.

Inside, we met up with Rachel who'd we'd met 5 weeks ago on Kroombit cattle station. We joined up with Rachel and her friends for the trivia quiz - more brainpower!
Lyn Scully (Janet Andrewartha), Boyd Hoyland (Kyal Marsh) and Stuart Parker (Blair McDonough) were the stars tonight and they slowly made their way around the pub meeting and chatting with everyone.

It was a great night, albeit a heavy one, and we left around 02:00 and rode home on the 'beer scooter'.
