From Thames, we headed up to Tapu and stayed on a motorcamp for the night. The next day, we got up early and headed up and around the Coromandel Peninsula on Highway 25 through Coromandel Town, Whitianga, Whenuakite, Tairua, Hikuai and ending at Miranda.

Stunning scenery and a breeze to drive. There's just no one on the roads, which gets a little eery at times! The roads are all just single lane with the odd one lane bridge thrown in every now and again.
Being quiet, it gave us both a chance to get to grips with the van... specifically the gearbox!

Hot Water Beach. Thermal waters brew underneath the sand and if you dig a hole in the sand at low tide, you can sit in your own little spa. As per usual, we arrived at the wrong time - 3 hours to wait for low tide!
